Why it worksWhat a LinkedIn post formatter actually does
A LinkedIn post formatter takes the raw text a chatbot hands you: Markdown bold, bullet soup, pleasantries and all. It returns plain text the LinkedIn composer accepts without mangling it.
LinkedIn strips most rich formatting, so GetCleanPost converts **emphasis** into Unicode bold characters, normalises bullets and keeps you inside the 3,000-character limit before you copy. Deep dive: the AI LinkedIn post formatter.
Why Markdown bold breaks on LinkedIn
ChatGPT writes **bold** with asterisks because chat interfaces render Markdown. Paste that into LinkedIn and the asterisks show up literally in your post.
GetCleanPost swaps them for Unicode characters (bold, italic and strikethrough) that render as real emphasis in the feed on every device. One caveat: screen readers may spell those characters out, so style short phrases, never whole paragraphs. The full why: fix ChatGPT asterisks on LinkedIn.
AI filler phrases to remove before you post
A handful of phrases flag a post as machine-written instantly: “in today's fast-paced world”, “delve into”, “game-changer”, “Furthermore,”, “I hope this helps”. Stripping them is the single biggest credibility win available to you.
The cleaner ships with a hand-tuned dictionary of the most common ChatGPT tells and shows every removed phrase as a chip, so you can audit exactly what was cut.

The 210-character fold: where your hook must land
LinkedIn collapses posts after roughly the first three lines, about 210 characters, behind a “…more” link. If your hook doesn't land before the fold, most of your audience never sees the rest.
The live preview marks approximately where LinkedIn's …more fold should fall, so you can rewrite line one until it earns the click.
Questions, answered.
FAQIs GetCleanPost really free to use?
Yes. Completely free, with no account, no paywall and no usage cap. The whole tool is one page of HTML and JavaScript, so there's nothing to subscribe to. If you post every week, that is who Pro is for: bulk cleaning, the hook library, drafts and reports. One payment, no subscription. The free cleaner stays free either way.
Is my draft uploaded or stored on a server?
No. Cleaning, humanising and scoring all run locally in your browser. Your text never touches a server. You can load the page, go offline, and keep working. The only thing saved is an optional draft in your own browser's local storage, and Clear wipes it.
Why convert Markdown to Unicode bold?
LinkedIn's composer has no bold button, so **asterisks** pasted from ChatGPT show up raw. Converting them to Unicode bold characters renders real emphasis in the feed. One caveat: those are technically different characters, which screen readers may spell out, so use bold for short emphasis, not whole paragraphs.
Why does the preview cut my post off with "…more"?
Because LinkedIn does. Posts collapse after roughly the first three lines (~210 characters) in the feed. The preview mirrors that fold so you can make sure your hook earns the click before it.
Does it remove every AI-sounding phrase?
No, and no tool can. The dictionary is hand-tuned and English-focused: it strips the most common ChatGPT tells (Certainly!, delve, game-changer…) and flags readability issues, but the final judgement should always be yours. Treat the score as a guide, not a verdict.
What's the 3,000-character limit?
It's LinkedIn's maximum for a personal post. GetCleanPost counts your cleaned text against the limit in real time (amber at 2,700, red past 3,000), so whatever you copy will actually fit.
